Using the viewer can cause issues with folding. It's highly recommended to use HFM for checking the status. Here's Zodac's guide for HFM setup.

As for being stuck try closing and restarting the client to see if that fixes it.

even with the viewer not open, it still will not gather a work unit.

i just checked and it said "closed connections" and then said "GPU: working 0/0"

heres something i noticed.

It also threw up an Unstable Machine error which i know is wrong, i was folding for like 5 hours yesterday on the settings i have right now
