Quick question. Is there a way to download multiple WUs at one time? There are times when my folding machine has no access to the internet for hours and will finish a WU and can't download a new one to resume working. I would like to have a reserve of WU units available when access to the internet is not possible. The completed WUs will be sent out once I connect it again. I think BOINC clients may have this feature if I remember correctly. I'm using [email protected] Client 7 but can use a different one if need be. Thanks for any help guys.

I wouldn't recommend running a bunch of Uniproc slots, that would kill PPD and I don't even see how it would help the issue. The only thing I can think of would be a next unit percentage of 1, this wouldn't download multiple WUs at a time (I'm not aware of a way to do that) but it would download the next WU at only 1% completion of the current WU instead of 99% which may be preferable for you.

Here's a quick guide with how to apply the next unit percentage tag if you'd like to try it and see if it suits you. Note that you will lose some PPD due to the start of the QRB being triggered earlier.

This is very useful. Thank you. Even if I loose a bit per day, won't be much of a problem compared to having the thing completely idle when it's finished a WU and not connected to the internet and I'm not there to help it get more. Thanks to all thus far. +REP

I have the same problem as the OP but with the bigadv WUs which take much longer the PPD hit is greatly reduced.
This is true, sorry I forgot about that. Source.

They probably don't want people downloading SMP units at 1% as it will slow down research. Even though some SMP units get sent out to uni procs at least they know those projects will run slower since they are allowed to run on uni. There are some SMP projects that only get sent to SMP2 so you could have multiple slots of those.
