First, I want to apologize if this is in the wrong thread.

Second, my CD-rom driver is out of date, but microsoft wants me to pay to use an "automatic updater" to detect all my driver problems and fix them for me.
I'm capable of fixing the problem myself, except I can't find a download link for a W7 Cd-rom driver.
If anyone knows any website that I could find a correct driver for my laptop, please do let me know.

How is it that windows 7 cant find a dvd rom driver ?

They don't list on on support page.

I've found a solution.

I had to delete the corrupt driver from my registry and restart my computer.
For some reason, that fixed it right up.

If anyone can tell me why, that'd be nice, but it's fine if it goes without answering.
