I just dropped my PSP... without it's protective case. Fortunatly, it slid down my leg and my foot took most of the impact (I forgot my pocket had a hole). I lived but I still cringe at the thought of it....

Is it scratched or dented on the outside? Nothing should have broke since theres not alot of moving parts inside, just the UMD slot and the buttons.

Don't worry that kind of stuff has been tested a lot in the factory

Most things could probably handle a few impacts. I dropped my phone (A Motorola V551) probably about eight times already; it has scratches all over the top but it still operates.

However, my friend killed his Razr on the first drop (dialing pad stopped working) so don't count too much on it.

What may really suck is if you forget your device (PSP, Cell Phone, iPod, PDA) in your jacket pocket and then do the laundry without first checking the pockets for anything that shouldn't be there. Soapy water and two spin cycles kill most electronics.

My crappy Nokia phone from a few years ago went through the washer about 5 times, and all that didn't work was the 0 key, it was amazing.

iPods HAVE to be the most fragile MP3 players out there. I dropped mine like 2 times and the thing broke! I switched over to a Creative which I have yet to drop(thankfully) but they seem to be more reliable.

iPod's are quite delicate. Anyone remember those old nokia phones? Those things were solid. I used to play pass with it, dropped it countless times, even on purpose sometimes and it still worked perfectly.
