CD Projekt RED just announced that acclaimed actor Charles Dance, well known for his roles in The Last Action Hero, Alien 3 and Game of Thrones will provide his iconic voice to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, playing the part of the Emperor of Nilfgaard.
Lead Writer Marcin Blacha commented to accompany the announcement:
Charles Dance is the perfect candidate to play the mighty Nilfgaardian emperor in our upcoming title. It's a dream come true for the team here at RED to be able to work with such an accomplished actor and magnetic personality.

I love it when he puts that little ding dong Joffrey in his place.

*walks up the steps.....
"" you really think a crown gives you Power ?!! ""

can't wait for a conversation between him and geralt
OMG... yes... he was in Alien 3. Love that film, how could I forget. *Mind blown*.
I guess the show makes him more likeable.... Because in the books he is a major ass(I want to use a stronger explicative).Yes, he puts Joffrey in his place but evertyhing else, especially his interaction with Tyrion made him down right hated for me.

On topic, it's awesome that he is doing witcher 3. Should make what is looking like a great game even better.
yeah he actually makes the character more likable even though he's a villain
Nice, they are getting one hell of a game going here.

I really hope they pull it off, from what they have shown so far this could well be the game of the decade.

I'm a fan of both the books and the show and this guy brings the character Martin wrote to life in a great way. I'll probably pick this game up just to match wits with him!
This is amazing! Charles Dance is definitely one of my favorite actors in GOT

Cant wait for this

In other completely unrelated news, TW3 will be unbeatable.

I'm guessing you haven't read through A Song of Ice and Fire...

I'm wondering if they will model the character after him somewhat as well. He would be a great character model and a great voice actor, many times they model a character after a person and use a different person's voice, but this could be a whole package.
Can't wait for TW3 and every other next gen title to come. Haven't had anything new and decent for quite awhile.

Rock'n'roll baby!

Easily the best actor, together with Tyrion(Peter Dinklage) and Olenna Redwyne, the Queen Of Thorns(Diana Rigg). Those three just eat every other actor and character in the series out of sheer iterpretative skills. Never mind charisma

Tywin Lannister(Charles Dance) as Emperor Emhyr Van Emreis, the White Flame Dancing on the Barrows of his Enemies. Perfect, CDProjektRED. Simply perfect. This game is shaping to be one of the best of the medium

Why can't you make a bad decission, you polish nerds?

Couldn't get into the witcher series. They had mideval elements to the game, yet far deviated from the mideval realism. I mean I know its called "The Witcher" and all, but they could have at least made the social classes behave like they did back then. And towards women.

You do know the series is based on a series of books right?

CDPR did not create The Witcher, author Andrzej Sapkowski created it and personally, I actually like that The Witcher doesn't just follow the same standard 'ye old' crap that a million other games have done before it. Its good to be different and the politics in The Witcher are far more complex than in almost any other RPG I have ever played, especially in number 1. I understand the game isn't for you, but seeing as it is largely guided by the lore in the books (though CDPR have made adaptations ofc and add/removed things), its kind of unrealistic to expect CDPR to stray from what Sapkowksi originally created.

Well beyond that they spend a little too much time focusing on the nudity of their chicks. They're a lot like blizzard is in that regard. Blizz spends way too much time trying to get you to focus on how cool a monster looks in a cutscene. Its a little self important and "look at me! Look how good we are at this!"

Hope you don't take it bad, but you have a lot of misconceptions in your History. The Witcher may be many things, but it's setting doesn't have anything to do with medieval, anything unless you consider armor, castles and things with sharp edges and pointy ends all that medieval times left us. It has MUCH MORE to do with the Renaissance(cities, guilds, cultural pursuits, progroms, banking, gunpowder, a certain sense of refinement, Universities/Scholarships like Oxenfurt or Thanned Academy, etc) than with the Dark Ages or medieval times(crapping out of the window, eating with your hands+cleaning with your beard, sleeping on the -with luck- fur covered cold stone of the Main Hall, etc). With what I assume are your tastes, no wonder you don't like The Witcher.
