Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 â€œHardenedâ€ and â€œPrestigeâ€ special edition owners have had access to Call of Duty: Classic since MW2â€™s launch earlier this November, but this is the first time weâ€™ve seen a firm release date for the mass launch of the downloadable.

Wait, something's stopping me from popping in my CoD1 disk right now and playing it? Seriously dude...if anything, now consoles get the glory that is the most balanced shooter ever created.

Speaking of COD1 and UO on PC, how active still is the multiplayer community? If i logged into the server browser, could I expect to find a good game?

haha, at least consoles got a game that they can run at the same graphics as pc, and hopefully 1080p

Is this a direct port of the PC version? Because I was hoping for better graphics. (I can't view the article, school blocks it)

Did this get a stealth clean? There's no way I revived it after 13 hours.

Of course it is. IW couldn't do a non-port version of MW2, then why would they make a new game for console.

Give me a break, the Kar98 shot cannon balls. I loved that came, but most balanced shooter ever? That's a stretch.

Are you talking about quake 3 CPM? Because CoD1 was not balanced I hope that was sarcasm.

Hey hey now, Kar98 is a one hit kill in Day of Defeat and insanely accurate, it just has like a two second recoil. I'd say that's balanced.

Oh, and hurray for single player achievements.

May DL this. CoD4 was the first one I played. Had tons of friends that played the older ones and tried ot get me into them but I just wasn't interested. Hell I only got CoD4 because I saw the GOTY edition on sale at my job last year. Been hooked on the series ever since.

I still play COD-UO online. Most of the younger guys have moved onto the newer games so I have better odds now in multiplayer.

Not a stretch at all...it's a bolt action rifle, and perfectly matched against the Mosin Nagant...guess which 2 teams are used in competition and which weapons they use? Yup. It's ridiculously balanced. That's why it's STILL played competitively.

I got it with my copy of MW2, so this isn't really news for me. It's kinda fun, there's not a whole lot in common with the modern games other than you pull right trigger to shoot and left trigger to look down the sights. It has lean on the console version, there's a way to select whether or not your gun shoots full or semi auto, you have a health bar, and grenades are a weapon that you have to switch to, you can't just throw one. Also, I've yet to find the sprint button. Still fun though.

No, not negative, just different. The last three CoD games (the only ones I ever played) all played the same, so I have to get used to this old-school system.
