I got a friend with a budget of 150 for his cpu, ram, and motherboard. He has 4gigs of ddr2 667 single channel. What I was thinking is going for a phenom ii x3 and a cheap mobo. The problem is all the mobo support dual channel. Will his single channel memory work in a dual channel motherboard?

Yes. It might even work in dual channel mode if they are the same ram sticks.

If I am interpreting your post accurately, the set will work in dual channel when inserted into the correct DIMM slots.
