My brother gave me 1 Corsair DDR3-1333 4GB stick which is in my sig rig.
Would it be worth changing to 2x2GB dual channel?
I use this system for gaming and work. Work apps aren't performance dependent so gaming is what I'm looking at.

For gaming and work the difference won't be noticeable
Your overall performance will also actually decrease...
1. downgrade to 1333Mhz speed (Noticed you're already running 1333, not 1600)
2. not dual channel

If you have money this is a potentially good idea, possibly in trade for the 2x2GB or in addition.

My last system had dual channel ram and I noticed no gaming performance difference whatsoever from going from 1 stick to 2.

You lose 5-10% performance right off the top by not having dual channel. If you bench, pending the benchmark, it could be up to 20%.

It can be a pretty big difference in some things, especially loading times (boot & application) and snappiness.
