are the same thing.
same digital output...only ONE difference
is HDMI transfer with AUDIO..
so if your monitor have speaker..using HDMI to HDMI... it will transfer with audio..don have to buy additional speakers

Gosh you have a ugly case like me! All that for a puter and you don't have speakers!

my monitor speaker are better then my regular speaker.so no point using speaker.

Some monitors have different settings for each input, so his HDMI input may look better (to him), but he can adjust the DVI to look the same.
As said, picture quality over DVI is identical to HDMI, since it is the same digital signal. It is pretty hard for most to even tell a difference between digital and analog (untill you get to larger screens with huge resolutions).
