These are old roadmaps, and may or may not reflect the latest ideas, but here goes:

nVidia (Q3 2005):
Quote:

nVidia G80 GPU is expected to be released in H2 (possibly as early as June). G80 expected to be released on TSMC's new 80nm process and will likely be the first DirectX 10 / Shader Model 4 compliant GPU on the market, indicating a total core redesign over G70/G71 and the implementation of a Unified Shader Model which processes vertices and pixels through the same dual purpose pipelines. In addition to SM4 support, improved SM3 performance and enhancements to the texture filtering engine are also expected. G80 clock speeds are expected to be around 700Mhz and the core will interface to GDDR4 memory.

ATI (Q4 2005):
Quote:

ATI R600 GPU is expected to be released in October on an 80nm process. The R600 is the successor to the R580 core and is expected to be built on a 65nm process and will be fully DirectX 10 compliant, utilising a Unified Shader Model architecture. Current rumours suggest that R600 will feature 64 Shader pipelines (processing both vertices and pixels) with 32 TMUs and 32 ROPs running at a clock speed of around 800Mhz. R600 is expected to interface to 512MB of 1.8Ghz GDDR4 Memory over a 256-bit interface.

^Wow, and also, why is the G80 coming out in June if the G71 isnt coming out until March? This sucks majorly, now if I get the G71 in March, I'll feel bad because I'll know that I missed out on DX10 which I'll need for Windows Vista and games like Crysis!
Well...DX10 is shipping with vista....i know that much.

Just so you know, the G71 was the 7800GTX 512mb.
Also, do ou guys the the R600 will be 80nm or 65nm? That is a little confusing, so what do you guys think.
BTW, anyone that is planning on buying a card from now untill then R600 comes out should proably wait. I mean, just loom at the specs.

Thats untrue, the 512 7800GTX was G70, hence the enormous cooler and the 7800 name.

Have you actually read the link?

I have, i looked at the date, and disregarded what you said. It's old and it's the inquirer, not the best source for news.

You have me. I looked at the first thing I saw, and disregarded this and this.
Either way, for anyone that is not buying the G71, wait for the R600 to come out before buying the G80. Looking at the numbers, it might really be worth your while.

I definately agree I think that it would be an unwise decision to go for a G71 without at least knowing what ATI has to offer...
LOL Sun gives out info from July 2005 and Orange reps him, good job Orange (jk) but in all seriousness SilentdeathX, the x1900xtx is what ATI has to offer, this is the card that is supposed to take on the 7900GTX (G71) and although ATI might come out with ANOTHER R500 based GPU (x1950?) it would be unwise, it would be in their interest to simply admit defeat and focus on R600 (like Nvidia did last round, ATI beat them to the punch with x800, the responded with 6800 and ATI fought back with x850 which was faster than the 6800 series and instead of immediately firing back, Nvidia focused on making G70 all that it could be, and im sure we're all quite pleased with the 7800 right? exactly)
The R600 will have 64 shader units and 800 MHz? Thats insane if its true

Remember its just a rumor and ATI hasn't said anything about it yet, but yes that will be amazing.
About a year ago, everyone was talking about the R450 or the R550 (I forget) but are those card(s) the x1800 series or the x1900 series?
