E6420 vs E4600

ok so i have both right now but i dunno which to keep and which to sell,

you guys got any ideas?

E6420 is a 8x multi 1066fsb 4mb
E4600 is a 12x multi 800fsb 2mb

what you guys think i know the e6420 can do 3ghz i haven't put the e4600 in yet but i want to know if its even worth it

so I'm want to know what you guys think

Higher FSB and twice the cache, easy choice.

I'd stick with the e6420. I got my e6400 to 3.6GHz (I think it had more in it) on a Gigabyte P965, so the multi shouldn't limit you much with a decent board. The cache is nice as well.
Yeah clock for clock the 6420 will perform better. If you want do some benches with each one and see for your self.
the e4600 will do 3GHz easy my e4500 did anyway pretty similar chip.

but as said above higher FSB and double the cache,

go with the 6420 and use the 4600 for a second project
thanks guys guess ill keep the e6420, its actually a e6400ES with 4mb BUT i never was able to unlock the multi tried it in 2 diff boards but still the same lol

the only reason i thought of keeping the e4600 is if i got it to 333 bus it would be 4ghz!!

Not all ES chips have unlocked multis. Very rare to have one that actually is nowadays.
