this is kind of a question, but more just a wierd thing i found.
A friend told me they are running gtx 295's in quad sli, on an e6700 dual core cpu. I'm pretty sure it's overclocked, but surely even then you would get bottlenecks. Another person i know has the qx6700 which has the same ghz but quad core and he bottlenecked with 2 gtx 295's.

Pretty much yeah... Unless its running at over 4Ghz.

I would say there is a bottleneck even at the resolution he should be playing at, but not one that matters as far as overall playability is concerned.

well if hes pushing 4Ghz plus then no it will feed both cards just fine.

i ran a e7500 at 4.2 on water and it fed 2x 295s fine.

i upgraded to a QX9770 and i only gained 5-10 fps.

but off-course it depends on the game some games love more than 2 cores some others don't use the extra cores.

Having a nice dual core chip at 4Ghz plus is all you need for gaming at this time.

maybe this will change in a few years.
