Ok I am considering trading/selling my E8400, its lapped, will do 4.35ghz at 1.36v, its a C0. I bought it used, so I don't know manufacturing code. Can't remember vid off the top of my head. I know on my zalman 9700led at 1.36v under load that it will run 50C on prime small tft's and 51C on blend test. Also it will stay under 68C on intelburn. I did boot it at 4.45ghz at 1.38v, but it won't fold at that so I didn't leave it there.

So what quad would be a fair trade and what is a good cash price shipped.

If you read down the guy I bought the chip from said

I ran 3dmark06 and Vantage at 4.5 and Super Pi at 4612mhz no problem on that cpu. That was just the first picture I could find. On a 780i.
Maybe my P35 board is holding the chip back then.

$130 shipped

Quad as a fair trade....nothing intel. Unless its a Q6600 B3 stepping.

AMD? Maybe a 9950?

Ok Q6600 B3's are worth like $95-$105...so I know I can get a decent Q6600 G0.

you might be able to get a 1.3+ vid g0 q6600 for em. The biggest obstacle is probably finding a quad owner willing to go dual again. As for straight selling, I say around 135. Good luck

That cpu does better than 4.3 with safe voltages.

Well and along comes the gentleman that I bought the cpu from. I would assume my old P35 board is probably the limiting factor.

Yeah I guess my P35 must be holding it back.

Yes it is your Gigabyte EP35. It is one of the board known to have a very BIG vdroop.
I think for a Q6600 G0 you are going to have to throw in a few bucks in the trade. Its a great OCing chip and all but they are selling for between 120-140 bucks used. After that E8400 I don't think you'd be happy with a quad that does less than 3800mhz ish. I say that because I sold an E8400 that would do 4400mhz and miss the raw speed unless the Quad is over 3.8.

I would trade it for my 1.275VID Q6600 that will do 3.93GHz at 1.478v
