E8600 worth?

571 Views 14 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  kazakia
Shipped, What should I ask for my retail E8600/stock heatsink has never been used.

I will do 5Ghz 1.52V, I did it long enough to bench all the 3DMARK tests around 6months ago it's been on water from the get go and has never been above 40/45C.

Thanks

VID of the chip? If you get 4ghz on 1.23vcore, then that's a good chip and I'm assuming it can get 4.5 easy.

If this is the case, I'd say $215 -$225 shipped

what about 4.2GHz on 1.208v and only 48c full load?
Attachment 100493
how much $$ for one that does that?

Cheers

how did you get the multiplier to 10? I thought they where locked to 9 or 9.5?

Mine will go lower too and pass all the stress tests, but try playing BF2, GTA IV or Empire Total war at 4.2GHz 1.208v

If you play any of those games it's going to have to be raised, I've talked to a lot of other people with this chip and it applies to them as well.

Intel multi. E8400 9.0, E8500 9.5, E8600 10 thus making up the diff. in stock clocks at 1333

Hey US
Sorry I wasn't trying to denigrate your E8600

It certainly seems like a winner

I already have mine pending (
)

Good Luck with your Sale!
Cheers mate

(and FWIW- I don't game; but, if I had it stable and folding 24/7 at low volts then I was saving a bit of cash on my power bill! ...right?!?)

Yes, that was the same thing with mine! Same with my Q9550!
I had a low volt on both, stable 6 hours+ in prime95, loaded up GTA IV, 2min and crash! bumped the vcore two notches, and it worked perfectly in-game to!

I see you have already sold your little chip! damn that was quick!
