Hi just yesterday I received A E8700 form a guy in Malaysia. I was purchasing 2 QX9650 for a a Hackintosh build and for my wife's PC when I noticed something was wrong that one of the chips was a E8700 instead of the QX9650 I ordered. Well I can't find nothing on the web about it.

Its supposed to be the flagship Core 2 Duo that Intel is supposed to release.

Yep, it exists...

3,5GHz dual core. But you still got ripped of, since it's Dual Core and not the Quad Extreme you ordered...
Uhhh??! 3.5ghz, 10.5x multi? Drool... Have you stuck it in and tryed it?
Damn you got ripped off badly, that wouldn't be anywhere near as powerful as a QX9650

But then again, he has a REALLY rare chip!

It might be a collectors item in the near future if Intel doesn't mass-produce these soon

EDIT: I really want to know how that thing overclocks!!!

lol "a guy in Malaysia"...good luck returning it.
this is why i dont buy from foreign sellers, especially when it comes to cpu's. It may be cool to own a non-released cpu, but i would have much rather gotten a qx9650.

So you'd be happy if this happens to you.

...Are you serious

How much did you pay for the QX9650s, because that E8700 chip is supposed to retail for $300 or so.

I'd be both pissed and amazed, lol.

Why'd you order from Malaysia?
It's like a damn unwritten rule not to order from there.

Can we get a CPU-Z validation link please?

I'm not saying I don't believe you, but this would remove all doubt from anyone's mind.
