Earmuffs on ATH-A700's felling apart..

768 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Zero4549
So the soft rubbery-ish coating on my A700's earmuffs have started to flake off, and now I'm getting it all caught in and around my hair and beard often.

Has anyone else gone through this or know of a viable solution that doesn't involve buying a whole new headset?

Contact Audio Technica. They're usually really good about sending people little replacement parts like that as long as you're still under warranty at little or no cost.

I sincerely doubt I'm under warranty, I bought these off a member 3 years ago and don't have any of the original packaging/receipts.
Haha....my ATH-A900 is going through the same deterioration. Both earmuffs have most of the leather flaked off. I've lost one side of the 3D wing, yet I still use it and the sound quality is still pristine as ever.
call them. they replace wings + earcups free usually. They even do repairs fairly cheap (both drivers replaced for 30 bucks for me, power surges are nasty)
