Ok, I wasn't sure where I should post this, but this seemed the most reasonable place to do it on. I bought earphones recently and I was actually happy with them first, then they broke. I'm not sure how, but whatever. Now i'm once again in the market for earphones, any suggestions? Also, I'm using these Apple earphones for the while I'm shopping, does anyone know does the type of material they use on these Apple earphones turn into that ugly yellow color? I was just wondering, because most white earphones are made of this type of material and I don't want to have to be walking around with dingy looking earphones.

Also never,ever buy apple earphones.Their sound quality is poor.Not to mention they started hurting my ear drums whenever I put them on. I haven't used one in ages!

If you are specifically looking for white headphones Ive had luck with klipch s4 headphones (not the ones with the remote!!! If you want a remote buy a mini amp.) Basically, most "broken" headphones are actually faulty wiring. If you have a set that you like, many times they can be revived by simply replacing the plug (and fitting it with a more robust wiring soution). The cable that end user headphones have is generally a very flexible nylon material with just enough of soem proprietary alloy to carry a signal. Whereas with straight copper cable, creases are problematic, and with with nylon based cable tearing (especially near the buds and plug) is most often the culprit). So it depends on what you are looking for but keep in mind copper will generally cost more. Not that you asked.... but what I do is get some old speaker wire and some cable shrink wrap and add a cable base to the plug that goes in to the source with about a 6 inch lead and then again a female plug to plug earbuds in or my akgs if im going to be staying in the same spot for a while. this way, if i forget they are on or the cat decides that the cable is actually a toy that I'm tonting him with, the headphoes with the weaker ylon cable simply unplugs from the more sturdy copper based lead... just dont let the three copper wires touch eachother or youll be buying new headphones (and possibly a new sound card.)

I didn't want to use them, but I'd rather have something to listen to when I'm going home then just bored out of my mind. And, I feel like after a long time of use, my ears start feeling pain on the outside. Don't like it.

I actually had the Klipsch s4i whites. I just don't know what I should get now.

So, does anyone know if the material they use on the Apple earphones ever get that dingy yellow color? I just want to know since all the earphones nowadays use the same type of material so I want to know if I should stay away from white earphones.
