By G series, I mean either the 6Gv2 or 7G Keyboards.
All you need is $5, a steady hand and some time. A keycap puller helps as well, but not absolutely necessary.

Sorry for the low quality pics. I'm using a webcam, as my DSLR is being cleaned.

I went and bought one of these:

A white Sharpie poster paint pen. They should go for $2-3. I live in a town where the cheapest can of pop is $2.50, so mine was $5.

Then I took my time and did this:

Originally I was just going to do the outer rim, but ended up doing the inside edges of the key clusters as well.
I did the bottom edge of the ESC and WASD keys as well.

Overall, I like how it looks much better

Thanks! I like the look alot better now.

I should note that you shouldn't do it all at once. When your hand warms up the paint inside the pen, it becomes more fluid and edges will start to become more ragged. So do it while the pen is cool.

maybe I'm nuts but I always thought of "cleaning up" as minimalizing and reducing clutter, not adding to it

don't get me wrong, I think your mod looks great, I just wouldn't call it a cleaner look, the stock look of the 6Gv2 is about as clean (ie no-nonsense) as you can get with a full sized keyboard

Well, clean has a number of definitions, one of them being:
a : characterized by clarity and precision : trim <a clean prose style> <architecture with clean almost austere lines>

Where did you get the keyset from? I haven't been able to find anywhere that has a full set.

I updated the OP with a full pic of it completed. I figured out how to take the larger keys off.
