8600 GTSx2 SLI 256mb or 8800 GTS OC 640mb (both EVGA)? I'm looking for a new video card(s), and I believe these are the two I wanna go with. Anyone have any real world data to back up these two or just some suggestions from people who own them. Thanks ahead for the feedback.

8800GTS, the 8600's are seriously weak and SLi is really only useful if you get the cards REALLY cheap, if they are THE best cards on the market or if you run a MASSIVE res.

Please say your getting a new CPU for that though...?

Go with the 8800GTS, it will perform better. I'm running the 8800GTS myself and I'm quite pleased with its performance.

Yep, as stated the 8600s even two of them are crap compared to the 8800GTS. And yes, unless you get a better processor you won't be having stellar performance with either of them.

just my opinion, go with the 8800gts
if you go with the 8600's in sli, you would pretty much be done with upgrades for you video cards and the single 8800 would still whup your system.

yes, i'm aware that my current processor will bottleneck it, but that's for another thread. So 8800GTS it is, but I'm dropping my next paycheck on mobo, cpu, and psu. I'm also thinking of going with a tuniq tower for cooling, but haven't made my mind up yet. Anyway, thanks for clearing that up in about 3 minutes of the initial time of the post. So yeah, thanks guys!
