It's a $30 rebate. Even if you never received it, it's still $12 cheaper. Plus you get a return policy that doesn't suck

also the one that the EGG has is the one with 5.5 latency - WD3000HLFS

vs. the ebay guy with 3.0 latency NEWER model WD3000GLFS
How is the WD3000GLFS the newer model?

Most of the time revisions go in alphabetical or numeric order..

Id much rather pay $7 more and be able to return it if it breaks in a couple years. Plus, Ive seen reviews that state that the GLFS model has problems with RAID, cause more disk controller errors, draw slightly more power, and are not backplane ready. I just googled GLFS vs HLFS, and I couldnt find any reason to go with GLFS over HLFS velociraptors.

not sure..

but the "h" and "b" model has 5.5ms latency

VS. the "g" model which is 3ms latency

which im guessing lower latency is better?

i would know about the newest models order...

that's why i think im going to buy... the egg doesnt have the "g" model

which has 3.0ms latency

The HLFS model is the workhorse (and newer), the GLFS serves as a cheaper variant (and was released earlier last year).

There's a $10 promo code running too.

But he's right, the G is indeed the better model, interestingly enough.

yeha i guess..

but the egg would not let me return stuff if its 30 days over the date of purchase...

they charge me restocking fee if i want refund...

well warranty wise yeah, the egg is the coolest.
I have never once had to deal with restock fees. They'll always waive it for you if you ask. I can usually get free shipping out of them too, if there was a problem with the item.
