Hey guys,

I own a Zowie Ec2 first generation, not eVo. Buttons are starting to **** up so I guess it's time to change it. The only problem is, this mouse doesn't exist anymore and has been replaced by the eVo version, with a different sensor.

Simple question, what are the differences between the two ? An exhaustive list would help me a lot. I already know it changed from 500 to 450 dpi and the prediction has been cut off, what else ? Lift-off ? Malfucion speed ? Positive/Neg accel ?

Cheers bros.

Can't get much info on the first gen EC's. It's an update / replacement. Like the FK 2013 / FK 2014.

Sensor in Evo is the Avago 3090, versus the 3060. You can probably do some research based on that.

May be we'll see the EC2 with the 3310 sensor. Quite a few people are banking on that, me included. This would be pretty much the best sensor you can hope for in an EC2.

3090 from zowie have only one native dpi 2300 if i remember well.. 450 will be interpolated
only go for it if you really like combo shape+huanos
or dont wanna go fk1 or fk2.

ec2 is small i think and will be good as fk2. but ambi.

no prediction, no accel (not that the regular EC2 had that either), and LOD is probably similar? very low that is.
malfunction speed I don't remember... but it's fairly high with a good surface on both.

though rumours are saying new EC2 is coming out soon, with the same internals as the FK1/FK2, which are upgraded in pretty much every way it seems.

I might be getting the first eVo verversion mixed up with the second but. Rubber coat was changed, different LED (not sure which first but they went from like a IR LED to red LED)

I've got an EC1 Evo (as well as FK and AM). Not a fan of the shape, but the rest is just fine. If you like the EC2, then you don't have to worry about the Evo.

As for the buttons, there is probably some maintenance you can do to try and see if you can fix them (short of replacing). I haven't opened up my zowies, but there's a guide on a stripping an AM.

I wouldn't recommend that if you're unsure and don't have a replacement ready though.
