In planning my next build I have come across a new concept from EKWB. Their EK-Matrix7 concept may just be a brilliant marketing scheme to get more people to buy all EK parts and fittings, or it could really simplify water cooled builds for most people by providing a BOM of parts needed to complete their build. In theory, given a specific case, motherboard, GPU and EK-Matrix7 compatible core components, namely for the CPU/PU waterblocks, distro plates, and radiator choices, there should be a way to generate a BOM of the fittings and hardline tube lengths required for perfect fit and parallel tube alignment.

The concept is that everything aligns in a 3D, 7mm matrix.
Using fittings with 7mm offsets (7mm, 14mm, etc) will allow for perfectly straight hardline tube runs.

Is anyone else interested in the EK-Matrix7 idea?
If so, what was your experience?
Do you have build list and completed project photos?

I've committed to try this line.
Core components & corresponding EK-Matrix 7 parts:
  • Lian Li PC-O11D XL Case
    • EK-Quantum Reflection² PC-O11D XL D5 PWM D-RGB - Plexi Distribution Plate
    • EK-Quantum Surface P360M - Black Radiator (QTY:3)
  • MSI MPG X670E CARBON WIFI Motherboard & AMD Ryzen 9 7950X CPU
    • EK-Quantum Velocity² D-RGB - AM5 Nickel + Plexi
  • Graphics Cards (vertical mount)
    • (Current) EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming 10GB
      • EK-Quantum Vector² FTW3 RTX 3080/90 ABP Set D-RGB - Nickel + Plexi
    • (Future) PowerColor Liquid Devil AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
      • Hopefully EKWB and PowerColor continue to collaborate on the Liquid Devil design for RX 7xxx series as they have done the two previous generations. I have a Liquid Devil 5700XT in a previous build and love the look. Hopefully it will be EK-Matrix7 compatible if they do... TBD
  • Plan to use 16mm OD borosilicate glass tubing (Alphacool) since the need to bend glass will be eliminated under EK-Matrix7
Will post fittings used and glass tubing lengths once I complete the build so others can easily replicate without having to do all of the measurements themselves.
