Just like its older sibling the GTX 460, NVIDIA's GeForce GTS 450 is hitting online stores, even though we've yet to hear a word from NVIDIA itself about the new Fermi-based graphics card. While we can't confirm rumors that the GTS 450's got a new GF106 chip under that plastic shroud, it seems evident we're looking at a somewhat less powerful board -- shipping samples from ASUS, EVGA, Gigabyte and Palit show just 192 CUDA cores (down from 336) and a narrower 128-bit memory interface...

Get your orders in before it gets pulled!

Should be an interesting card for folders. More SP's, cheaper, lower memory interface (but that's irrelevant).

Isn't official release 9/13? If so, it's not before the official release as they don't shipping until Monday (9/13)

I suppose it's not so much that it's listed, but because it's listed, we get confirmation on the final specs.

Edit: Oh and a member has had one of these cards for a while now, heres the thread for that.

Your thread was moved cause it wasn't a news article it was just a product in sale. I thought he would have moved it to online deals but nvidia section works too.

OP needs a source though, if he wants to keep it as "news".

It's smack dab between a 5750 and 5770, which are already pretty close. Pricing is in between them as well. Nothing too exciting but not a failure either. I wonder how it will overclock...

Well, it wasn't really a deal so much as it was a listing mistake. An online deal entails the product being on sale or something like that, not a launch, so I moved it to nVidia.

5830 is around 20% slower than the 460 while the 5850 is around 20% faster than the 460.
