Error on first startup!! HELP

I'm powering on the rig in my sig for the first time and I get a message:

USB Over Current Status Detected!!
<something here about shutting down in 15 seconds>

I can't use any of the options (del f8 etc) to get into the bios/other settings. I don't know what's going on. I'm going to try clearing CMOS right now, but in the meantime, any suggestions?

edit: also, it says my RAM is in unganged mode...pretty sure dual channel is ganged, right?

Switched ram around while battery was out. Rebooted: no change.

I've resolved the USB Overload issue, turns out the mobo has usb pin config i'm not used to (backwards).

I still have unganged registering in the BIOS.

If there's slots A1/B1/A2/B2 from left to right, which do I put them in to enable dual channel?

I'm trying to install an OS through a USB drive, which I believe should be properly formatted (I followed maximum pc's guide), but the system doesnt seem to be recognizing the drive. I'm digging through BIOS options right now

Okay I got it to boot, but all I get is "Invalid partition table"

It boots fine on my laptop...

I'm given to understand that Unganged is the usual mode anyway.

Thanks.

Can anyone shed some light on the USB booting issue? It boots on my lappy but not on this system.

Try format the flash drive with a different file system, some mobo's are picky

Just tried FAT32 (was NTFS) and still same problem. Trying WinToFlash software now...

Unganged offers the best performance. Dual-channel and ganged/unganged are unrelated.

Okay, thanks.

I resolved the USB booting issue by simply using a software program to format the USB Drive. Not sure what the issue was, but I bypassed it.

Thanks to all
