Hello all,

I have a strange problem here.

I have built a few systems around the EVGA 650i board, which have all been pretty reliable. I use Crucial Ballistix 800mhz ram, seagate harddrives, Windows vista, newest bios, all updates, x1800xt, and an ultra 500w power supply. I first thought the power supply was too weak (400w), because i would have to unplug everything except the monitors to get it to boot up sometimes, so I tried a 500w. Same deal, so I tried a better 500w Ultra with dual 12v rails. Same deal.

What else could cause the computer to be so picky about when it boots up?

see if the bios chip is loose. with the computer shut off, push down lightly on the the bios chip, and try to boot. (you do not have to hold it down) I have seen some issues with this in the past. What does the LED error codes say?

The bios rom chip not the battery. DO you have the manual? This will show you where this is. As far as the LED I don't think that it has it either

EDIT I circled the bios rom chip
