EVGA 780i FTW long beep on 2b post code

I was just on my desktop today, everything working fine, even played a game. I put the computer into sleep mode while I went to the library for a couple hours. I came back and the computer powered on from sleep mode but there was no video and nothing seemed to boot up. I shut down and then tried booting and I keep getting 1 long beep on post code 26 2b and then it keeps going and goes to FF (fully functioning) but I still have no video.

Specs:
EVGA 780i FTW
Q9550
4GB (2 x 2GB) Corsair Dominator PC-8500 DDR2 1066MHz 5-5-5-15
Lian-Li 850W power supply
Watercooling setup

I tried clearing the CMOS with the red button on the board while it was powered off. I tried one of two sticks of RAM in the closest slot to the CPU. I've tried using one of each stick with no solution.

Post code 26 refers to failure to initialize clock generator and sensors.
Post code 2b refers to video intialize problems

I am pretty pissed off, I don't want to have to RMA the board but I will if I have to of course. Still, it was working just fine earlier and now this crap happens. I've tried booting it like 30 times and it worked one time but I turned it off to try both sticks of RAM and then it went back to this problem over and over again even if I tried the original configuration that worked that one time. Gahhhh I'm mad.

EDIT: IT WAS POST CODE 2b, not 26

Have you tried booting with no keyboard mouse or other peripherals plugged in? weird but it's worked for me on a couple of post issues with the 780i FTW, if it works let Vista boot up then press the power button once and it should shutdown as normal
I did, twice. It then comes to a 7F error code which means user input is needed. You are supposed to press F1 to continue and I did. The problem still persists...
Have you tried reseating the gfx card?

In the past when I have seen this error in 780i's it normally comes from bowing the board; which in your case cannot be the case. 26 can also relate to having your pcie lane speed issues(either to low or to high).

More importantly does it post when the card is in the other slots? You should find that if it does it will tell you to make sure the card is in the top pcie slot.

agreed... 26 would give you a post screen and request F1 to continue...

2b sounds more like it as you have no display.....

You guys are right, I'm sorry for the bad information. It was post code 2b. 26 and 2b can look a lot alike... So ya it was something to do with my video card. I finally got it working but it's still really weird. like boots up half the time. I tried different slots, I tried different power connectors. Hopefully this configuration works. I'll keep you posted and thanks for the assistance.
i have a 750i, and i get error 2b, but i get no beeps, and no video, heck, i can't even see the BIOS, any1 got any tips on why this might be?

i believe it is either a faulty GPU or a faulty PCI-E connection.

Any input is HIGHLY appreciated

thanks in advance

What are your system specs?

vid card
memory
cpu
power supply

go here and fill out system specs

the 2b post code is video related.

Have you tried a different video card, or your video card in a different motherboard?

Is your power supply sufficient for your card?

Take out your video card, and start up your rig. Then see what happens.
