you can. the black plastic top on the northbridge cooler is held on by two small screws threaded in from the underside of the cooler.
I think it is far more work than it is worth though unless you want to replace the TIM anyway because you have to remove the cooler from the board to get to it and that cooler is not fun to get lined back up.
edit: or do you mean take the north bridge cooler completely off? if that is what you mean then you would have to find new coolers for the northbridge and southbridge.
