Actually, it looks like it does dump a little beat of heat above the SLI connectors.

I don't think so, if you look it isn't actually part of the cooler, it is an add on and I think the notches are for looks.

It's nothing new.

But the 285 and 480 Classy's look, well, classy. This thing looks like a cheesy, oversized, mutated Fermi turd.

I think these cards that are ment for overclocking should just come with a waterblock as standerd for 2 reasons.

1. Nobody makes waterblocks for the extreme cards.

2. Extreme cards just shouldn't be alound to run on air.

What you fail to realize though is that this design is a lot more functional than that of the lightning or matrix cards. This card doesn't have any part of the cooler hanging over the sli connectors which means 4-way sli is possible natively. Also, I quite like the design because it doesn't blow all that hot air into your case. And depending on the power delivery and quality of the chips, we could see a real record breaker here.

Thing is, is that these extreme cards are really meant for breaking records on ln2. So what is the point of putting a waterblock on them when that would increase the cost substantially to us and the overclocker buying them will have to take the water block off anyways?
