I have about 2 months left before my step up window closes. I would like to get a 285 so i can sli it when i go i7. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about an evga 2gb gtx 285?

nothing is announced yet, its not a refference card so evga may not release one. I also have 2 months left, so I'm in the same boat.
Ive got 82 days on my step up and before those days are over i will be stepping up.

to what?

the 295 would be worse than sli. I realize it would only be $100 more, but the future upgrade possibility is better with a 285.

worst case i upgrade to another gtx285 for the cost of shipping. mine sucks at overclocking i only get to SSC speeds.

GTX 295s overclock around 10% on average and thats enough to equall GTX 280 sli in performance. If you're waiting to step up from gtx 260s / 280s, GTX 295 would offer the biggest improvement.

or just shock it dead, and then RMA it because they have a lifetime warranty. Then if you get another sucky overclocking GTX 285 from the RMA, then step-up to another 285, if that one sucks...well then you sir just have had some bad luck.

you cant step-up after you have RMA'd a card, i usually have good luck my 3850/9800gtx/9800gx2/and two gtx260's were all great overclockers but not this guy. So i got 83 days now left to step up to something better.
