evga gtx280 downthrottling (Fixed!)

340 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Tatsuo
I'm getting driver restarts all the time when benchmarking and i'm pretty convinced it's from those damned power saving features or w/e you call it downthrottling of the gtx280.

Anyway to disable that irritating feature? A patch maybe?

*it does this driver restart thing on 178.24 as well as beta 180.xx as well as those included on the CD it came with.

bump - Nobody else has a hate for dumb powermanagement features?
No registry values i could change to fix this?
i need help can't find the option anywhere.
What are your temps. When i had a 280 the drivers would crash at exactly 82c. What temps are you getting?

according to precision software 75 under extreme load.
it has an additionnal fan aiming straight at the card's intake stock fan.

i'm not too worried about temps here but about the downthrottling when the benchmark goes back to desktop between 2 tests. that's when it restarts.
