just fired up my new beast on water for the first time and went straight to bios.
northbridge temp said 102c. freaked me out so i shut her down, and started poking around the internet. COuld it be that the evga sensor is no longer working or do i have some sort of tim issue. What do you think?
sounds like it's not seated correctly if you are on water. If you are on air with the NB, yeah they are running hot b/c of a bad design flaw w/ a lack of air flow. I would probably try and reseat your waterblock though.
She was booted on air and everything seemed fine, ran windows for a day just to make sure all was good
did you bleed out you loop?did u jump start ur psu like I said to allow the air bubbles to escape(up to 12hrs) b4 giving power to ur mb. did u ensure the pump was on,fans, etc.

air bubbles wouldn't cause that high of a temp on a properly seated and running watercooling setup.
pump was ran 12 hours, air bubbles all out and no leaks.
stuck in ram, vid card, and dvd. plugged in all motherboard power and booted up. immediately went to bios and checked temps. CPU temp looked great, northbridge was skyrocketing.
Thank you for all the replies. Going to look into this tomorrow, and before I do ill be checking here, great board, with tons of good people. this is my first water cooling project, but I have been overclocking on air for a long time.
I have the same waterblock on my classified, and my northbridge sits around 30C, iirc. Try reseating/check the TIM first, and if you still get the ridiculous temps, I'd say it's a sensor.
is there an issue with applying a little thermal paste to the TIM and then setting water block down and picking it back up to see if your getting good coverage, will the thermal paste cause an issue on the TIM
It has to be a bad seat. I have the exact same setup with the mosfet and nb/sb block by bitspower. Even with boosted voltages (i don't remember how much i put -_-) It idles at around 28-31~
Edit: Did you forget to apply the thermal paste to the Nb? They have thermal pad for everything else but you need to apply your own TIM on the nb.
bad seat! looked around and found that quite a few people had to remove the rubber spacer/washer between the waterblock because they are so difficult to align. They are tough but doable, and i thought they may be inhibiting my ability to get a proper seat. I removed them and presto 27c. I had more issues with the primochill typhoon 3. But, after it is all up and running I think I like the primo chill.......time will tell.
