NVIDIA GeForce 310 Spotted on HP Website

Some reports suggest that NVIDIA's desktop GPUs based on next-generation Fermi architecture will be launched as GeForce 300 series. Interestingly, we've just came across a graphics card dubbed GeForce 310 at HP's official website.

Man does Nvidia have a weird naming system. That would be one ugly looking Fermi card lol.
310 must be the low-end Fermi GPU. I wonder what would be the closest comparison from a current-gen Nvidia GPU, and how much better performance will be?
lol ugly indeed. Very small/incomplete cooling solution? i was expecting to see a fullcover cooler...
I want to get that, just so i can say i have a Nvidia 300 serries, lol.

Well, on semiaccurate (I know, I hate him too), Charlie says the 310 is a rebranded 210, with the addition of DDR3.

Of course...take it with a grain of salt.
I think my hand might be more powerful then that. Damn thing is tiny, with a tiny dinky heatsink.
Now the question is:

Is this a rebranded GeForce G210 or a GT220?
This is not fermi

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product...ce_310_us.html

It only supports DX 10.1

CUDA Cores 16
Graphics Clock (MHz) 589 MHz
Processor Clock (MHz) 1402 MHz

Memory Specs:
Memory Clock (MHz) 500
Standard Memory Config 512 MB DDR2
Memory Interface Width 64-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 8.0

I didn't even think about it, I guess there isn't any rule stating that Nvidia 3xx series cards must all use Fermi architecture. Just like some 2xx series cards are pretty much rebrands of 9xxx series cards.

It looks like a straight rebrand of the G210 to me. No DDR3.

Exact same clocks for everything, same dimensions, and same number of shaders.

I really hate this. Pointless renaming, all it does is confuse things.

indeed very good, i checked on the hp site first

http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en...reg_R1002_UKEN

i got curious and thought it was a typo until i saw the nvidia link, i think there just trying to hype up the 300 series.. but why name this junk as a 310 is beyond me :S, they better not do any renaming schemes again >.<

in saying that though, nice lil cheap thing so my m8 can play a lil bit of some old classic games and possibly tf2 etc xD

also on the nvidia site it states

http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_family.html

GeForce Products - only available in prebuilt (OEM) systems
300 Series
GeForce 310

and obviously stuff from the 200 and 100 series

its just a gimmik thats all, just updated slightly to handle the latest tech (except dx11)

I think it's a typo on their site?
Clearly that looks like a GTX295 contender.

i think the main question is if it is actually a fermi chipset?

Leave it to nVidia, the re-branding kings, to produce yet another episode of re-branding.
