I was trying to see if I could fit a GTX 260 into my HP case and I wasn't sure how cards were measured. Is it the card length inside the case (Bottom measurement in image) or is it overall card length (Top measurement in image). Sorry for the silly question and thanks.
Its a Hewlet Packard case and I really don't need a 260 for what I do just wanted one. What about a GTS 250 could I play games decently at 1440x900 res. I don't think my cpu would be a bottleneck would it?
But would the GTS 250 do a good job at playing newer games at decent framerates. I don't have to max them out or anything. Just a good quality gaming experience. I would keep the card I have now for a while longer if it supported shader 3.0...lol.
The problem with the GTS 250 is is it the same length as ALL of the GTX series. So a GTS 250 most likely will not fit. Measure the opening in your case and find the GPU that fits the case and your budget.
I take that back. The GTS 250 is 9 inches long. It is a rebadged 9800GTX and the 9800 is 10.5 inches long. So I just assumed. Sorry guys.
Thats a nice set up but my case is weird and backwards. My motherboard tray is on the other side of the case opposite from yours and the expansion slots are up by the power supply and I can't fit a ATX board in this case.
Yours is just like mine, just reversed & upside down. You need to put in a Micro-Atx mobo. There's plenty of good Matx boards out there. DFI even makes an X58 Matx board, which I plan to get in the near future.
I have since chsed the butterflies out of my case an put in a Coolmaster V8, damn that thing is big.

My cable management sucks. How did you get yours so neat and clean. I can't seem to get behind my motherboard tray to do anything with mine.
You may have to remove the cage for the expansion drive to fit the bigger video cards.
This is how mine is laid out. Sorry about the birds nest there. I just hooked everything up to make sure it was gonna work before I got all neat and tidy with everything.
