This has been bugging me. I wanting to buy two more 21.5" 1080p Asus Monitors to complement my 1 in a tri-monitor eyefinity setup...until I found out about displayport.
What is the reason for requiring a displayport output on the card rather than oh say, HDMI, like the majority of high end monitors support?
This is by no means my answer. "You can only have two of those active at one time; DVI + HDMI or DVI + DVI. Its related to the need for timing signals and the display engine; Displayport doesn't need timing signals so the extra display can be enabled." This is the closet thing I've found to an answer. All credit goes to caveman-jim from his post here.

Not only does that not approach the question of the thread, it is also not "problem solved".
"Problem solved" would be a scenario in which HDMI and Displayport were acessible. Not only that, but like Duckie said, with this "solution" I have to tack on an incompatability tax to the monitor i have already paid for.
As I know DP on monitor does not help. problem in video card,
Cart we have are
2 DVI and native DP- all 3 doesn't work in one time
2 DVI and ACTIVE DP- work
That is why you need adapter. IT IS NOT only DP to DVA adapter it is also native DP to ACTIVE DP.
BEST way is to wait a bit, AMD make 6xxx series with full support.

Incorrect.
If you have a monitor with native DisplayPort, you do not need the active DisplayPort adapter for 3 monitor Eyefinity.
