F.E.A.R. 2 or Fallout 3? Also recommend me some cheap steam games!

On Tuesday I will have £31 to spend (exactly) so I was browsing through the Steam store and I'm interested in F.E.A.R. 2 and Fallout 3 however I can't buy both (I can always buy the latter another time).

I already have F.E.A.R 1 along with the expansions but I aint completed them yet so that's a reason to get Fallout 3 first I suppose. However since I won't get the money until Tuesday then I could spend the time from now till then to complete them

I played the F.E.A.R. 2 demo the other day and I loved it. I'm not sure on how much I'll like Fallout 3... Is there a demo? I have played Oblivion before and I thought it was alright, but I couldn't be assed to play it (was playing css and cod4 hardcore)

If I get F.E.A.R 2 then that leaves £6 over for another game. Perhaps maybe Dark Messiah (my mate had it ages ago and he found it fun, I'm gonna try the demo soon) or Audiosurf, or an Oddworld game. There's plenty to choose from! So if I get Fallout 3 then I won't be able to get another side game.

Please help me decide! ^^ Sorry for typing so much lol. Ofc you can suggest another game instead of F.E.A.R 2 and Fallout 3.

I loved Fallout 3 but will vote for F.E.A.R.2. Fallout 3 is too massive and gets boring quickly.
Fallout 3. It is one of the best games I have played this year!

If you absolutely loved oblivion, you might find Fallout 3 lacking slightly in character immersion (despite the three hour attempt they make to do so in the beginning). If not, you will fall in love with it. I showed FO3 to some of my more casual gaming friends (they're frat brothers that generally don't even play games) and they've each played through it 3 times. All in all, you will not be disappointed with this game.

If I could suggest another game?
PORTAL!

It is probably one of the best / most innovative games ever made.
Thanks for the replies so far and I already have portal

Fear 2... Fallout 3 is extremely boring, it's just a bad game. Can't believe I wasted my money on it, and on Steam, so I can't "legally" sell it. I couldn't play more than the first 20 min... I'd rather scoop out my eyeballs with a spork

Dead Space is a really good game you may want to consider. Maybe better than FEAR 2 in my opinion.

You do realize that the game really starts after you get out of the vault? So you need to play more than 20min to get in the game

I enjoyed fallout 3. I honestly have not completed it (i installed a slew of mods that drastically reduce the rate of leveling).

Check the Zero Punctuation reviews on both to get an idea about what is bad about them; the guy who does those video reviews said Fear 2 is more like Fear Again This Time for Consoles Hooray!
Fallout 3 is MUCH better than Fear 2. Fear 2's graphics aren't even in the same league, and what the other people posted is exactly right. The game is HUGE! You can seriously get a couple hundred hours of playtime out of it... but with a word of caution:

The main storyline isn't very long and ends the game if you beat it. You can go back and play an earlier save, but, you'll know when you're getting close. Just don't finish the storyline if you don't want to ruin it.

Really, though... you can spend days (literally) just going over all the nuance that they put into the game. There's SO many hidden gems just waiting to be discovered.

And don't even get me started on Addons!
Dead Space does look awesome... It's not on Steam though :\\ I heard of this site called Direct 2 Drive. Is it any good? I might get it on there.

Just looked on D2D and it's £30 >< I'm hoping to get another cheap game as well
I say go for FEAR 2 its an awesome game that will keep you awake.
I'd vote for Dead Space myself too. I loved that game way more than Fear 2.
Fear 2 was an ok game which i finished in one day. Kind of short really but it was better the FO3 because FO3 was so boring and i could not play more then 1 hour of it.

QFT, it is awesome... really one of my fave games ever. there is just so much story and so much depth waiting to be explored... 'fact one of my fave parts of the game was a side quest lol... + the devs are working on DLC and some new conent should be here on the 27th or so

I wasn't impressed with either game, but of the two, I'd say that Fallout 3 is better.
Tell you what. I might not get either and just buy lots of cheap games. About to try the demo for Dark Messiah so if that's any good I'm definitely getting that. I also like the look of the Oddworld games. I used to play it round my old mates house ageeees ago on the playstation 1 or something I don't remember.

Recommend me more cheap games from Steam xD
In my opinion, it seems like you like a more fast paced, gritty game. And it seems like you're comfortable w/ the responsive controls of an FPS. Fallout 3 is an FPS in some manner, and I agree it's a much better game, but FEAR 2 or Dead Space seem to be more "your" pace. IMO, I don't think you'd enjoy Fallout 3 as much as FEAR 2 or Dead Space. Fallout 3 will keep you more interested than Oblivion, I'm sure, but not enough to justify what you're looking for RIGHT now.
I just finished playing the demo for dark messiah and its so good! definitely buying it
If you want to poo your undies get F.E.A.R.2 if you dont so much get fallout 3
