Good to see your postbit back Enterprise!

Fold on!!
They should give folders a discount on our electricity or on taxes. I say everyone should write to their congressman and suggest this!!!! Until then folding on solar power.

I'm relatively new to folding too, I went from 0 to 11000 ppd in 12 days, I hope to be in the top 100 soon
lets make a goal of 100 and see how long it will take us to recruit that many

makes me wonder if it couldn't be a tax write-off to a point. How is it any different than donating to a non-profit charitable cause?

As I was doing my taxes this year, it did say you can deduct the expenses of volunteering, milage etc. I wonder, hmmmm.

well, the only reason I ask is this:

the wife and I adopted a cat for $100. We overpaid if you ask me, but just the same.. it was a donation to a local not-for-profit. We can right off that donation on our taxes this for this year. Last I checked, folding for stanford is a not-for-profit organization.

I'll ask my uncle, he's a geek and a cpa.

I'm serious I did think about it. Ask him and see if this counts as volunteering and therefore if we can deduct the expenses?

I would almost think it would be at least a partial deduction. I'll get in touch with him and report back here.

Folding is not tax deductible, it's been discussed several times here on OCN, sorry to rain on your parade. But back on topic, go OCN! all we need is more recruits.
