it is a good game, but not as revolutionary as they think it is and it gets repetitive after a while. it's good fun but you'll start to see niggles with it that get bigger and bigger...

personally i would put the money towards Empire Total War or GTA IV PC, or perhaps Fallout 3.

GTA IV on the PC sucks!
Fallout 3 is OK...

I saw get Far Cry 2, you won't be disappointed.

If you like story, don't get it.

If you like a free flowing environment; or just love popping pills and shooting up, then you might consider getting it.

There should be a Demo kicking around, try that and see if you like it.
I don't think it is.

The open world is definitely what took them so long to make this game, other than that.. theres nothing really good about this game.

Repetitive, AI is bad most of the times, AI has super human aiming and eyes, Lots of people are experiencing stablity issues (mostly ATI), and well... Theres never really a time to just sit down and explore like there would be in most open world games. You are ALWAYS being ran into by some patrol or something. While that sounds like fun, its the same exact thing over and over. 3 Guys and a Jeep that goes stangely faster than the jeep you are driving (which is the same type of jeep!). You are always forced to get out of your car, or get on the mounted gun.. or they'll kill you in seconds.

Almost all the missions are "Go talk to this guy then go kill these guys then go back and talk to this guy" Checkpoints respawn in about 5 minutes, so you clear a checkpoint or 2.. then clear the town.. and on the way back you gotta clear the same checkpoints AGAIN.

Really really fustrating.. I can't get into this game.

Ditto. I was consistently trying to love this game because I dropped $50 on it. It was almost like I was playing it just so I could justify that it was worth buying. I would not go for it again.

i bought farcry2.. and played it all day and was enjoying it.. then was afk for a couple days and stumbled across fallout 3.. installed it..
not touched farcry since.
maybe its just me
Wanna buy it off me?

I put it up for sale about 3 hours after I installed it, that should tell you everything you need to know

I need the money to buy Fallout 3, because I feel bad not giving Bethesda their hard earned money.

The game physics are great and stay true to life but the story is horible and the Bush(Jungle) gets old quick.
i would sell mine but i aint got the rep yet.. thinking about ebaying it.. doh
I bought FC2 as a gift for my dad. If you played FC1, it's allegedly far better than FC2. FC2 is slow and repetitive, and only really gets better closer to the end, but it's hard to get there (not by challenge, but by repetition).

I hear Fallout 3 is orgasmic.

I'm not sure I'd say that. Wire fence vs. jeep going 60 mph and the fence wins? I also hated how they got rid of destructible environments (not completely, but not as good as Crysis).

Whether or not you will like this game is big time personal preference. Hard to determine.

I for one, enjoyed the game from start to finish. Others, hated it from the beginning.

I say get it an find out, if you like it then thumbs up, if not then sell it.

I'm 45% through the game, and it's been a real struggle to get this far.
I'm fed up of spending half an hour travelling to a mission, stopping every five minutes to get shot at, only to find I have to drive all the way back where I came from to do the mission, getting shot at by the same guys I'd already spent 10 mintues killing on the way over.
And I can't escape from them, as they jump into a car and chase after me, except they've found the hidden nitro button. God only knows why they hate me so much, I must have run over their cat or insulted their mother or something. But they are seriously p'd off with me for some unknown reason. And i'd better not try to tip-toe around them either, because they have 360-degree-x-ray-telescopic-night-vision-eyes.
And somewhere down the road a guy with a rusty shotgun half a mile away spots me, and shoots at me through rocks, so I
collapse and my 'buddy' turns up to save me, but slips on the grass and starts choking to death, then it's my turn to save him, then he falls over again for no reason, and I save him again, and he must be bored of the game himself because he's spark out on the ground, so I either have to go on without him or load the last save and spend another hour doing the whole thing again from scratch.
But fret not, as the mission you were scrambling to get to was the same as the last one you did, only with a boat instead of a car, or no vehicles at all forcing you to run the whole distance, blacking out every 10 seconds through exhaustion.
But in its favour the game does look stunning. And Ubisoft obviously agree, as they force you to traverse every square foot of it. But heck, it all looks the same! The only thing that keeps you sane as you're driving around in circles are the huts and other such 'landmarks' scattered around the map. But don't spend too long admiring them, as they nearly always contain a handful of shotgun-snipers.
Rent it, play it for five hours, and imagine reliving those five hours ten times over. Then return.

i found this review and it pretty much sums it up for me

alright thanks guys, what do you think of fallout 3?
Fallout 3 is amazing. I haven't touched FC2 since getting FO3. I'm doing every side quest to get all I can out of this game.

Here's my album of it: http://marin.picturepush.com/album/3...Fallout-3.html
