fan speed help

my cpu fan funs at full pelt all the time when plugged into my mobo, its stupidly loud, but it is adjustable.

i cant find any ways in my bios of changing the fans speed, and speedfan allso doesnt work when trying to change the speed.

Has anyone got any ways of changing fan speed without buying a fan controller? Any free software people know that works?

Cheers, gratefull for any help

Try Speedfan - if that doesn't work you don't have much hope TBH

Your GPU fan speed can be controlled in RivaTuner

If you cannot do it through the BIOS or speedfan then the only other suggestion would be to try something like this: http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/products/cables/zm-mc1

or say these: RC56 and RC100 Resistors http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/pro...ries/resistors

Very cheep alternatives to a fan speed controller

I am writing up a FAQ on how make an even cheaper + better fan controller. Expect it over the weekend!

Would the Biostar fan utility work on his Asrock? If it does, I'll send him the program.
yea maybe the motherboard cant pick up the fan speed?, its a budget board right?
Unlucky (i could be wrong though)
You could also try smartguardian, if it has an ITE chip on the motherboard
i wouldent call it buget, its a good board, good oc'ing features etc but its defintaly not the best
fan speeds are picked up, but trying to alter them wont work on speedfan
Have you tried ASUS probe or motherboard monitor 5?
Well speedfan will only work if the Fans are cpnnected to the motherboard Via the 3 pin connector. Or get a Fan controller mate.
the fans are connected to the motherboard!!!

speedfan picks up the speeds of them, but cant adjust them
