Hey guys I have 8 of these. I ran into a problem. I fired up the rig and only 4 are spinning at full speed, and the rest are like spinning and stopping, spinning and stopping. All new fans so I assume they are all good? i have never ran into this before. I have this PSU. I assume it has enough juice to run all the fans? Any tips, tricks advice would be great!

Just wired right to the molex connectors. I had a fan controller but I have it sitting the box.

That shouldn't be happening if they're all hooked directly up to the PSU.

And yes, some fans can come DOA.

I don't mean to hijack the OP's thread, but does daisy chaining mean using the female molex of the first fan (which is connected to the PSU) to connect the other fans?

Yes, I agree with him, try what he said. A few may be DOA. Although it doesn't seem likely maybe your PSU doesn't have enough power, I'm not sure how much wattage it can sustain continually, many companies put peak output on, and I haven't really heard much about InWin. If your PSU is old it may also be deteriorating producing less power. Try what Darren9 said first before worrying about DOA and PSU problems.

Yes I believe so, or whatever the fan connectors 3 pin to molex is then continuing using same pathway to PSU

Yep, so if there's a fault between the male-female on one of the fans it would effect any others connected after it.

If daisy chaining is the case, maybe even if it isn't then I guess checking the fans one by one by plugging it directly to the PSU (a jump-started one would be faster) would be necessary

Ok, this is all great info. I have some testing to do. I have a 800 Watt that I can jump and test. I didnt have them all daisy chained. I have maybe a few that way. I have I think 10 molex connections in which most fans have there own connection. I guess PSU is less then a year old. So I *think* that rules out a bad or deteriorating PSU.

Nope. I would put In Win in the "generic psu catagory" so it is possible you don't have enough power.

This, PSUs deteriorate right out of the box....not noticeably, but they will very slowly start to drop their peak, thats why most PSU calculators have deterioration as an option to find a appropriate wattage.

Probably not, did you test all the fans separately, I mean like one at a time? Maybe some are just DOA. If anything maybe a fan controller.

This is the thing to do. You can even do them one at a time while it's running. I know I've done it a million times.
