Hello fellas. As I'm sure alot of you guys know, I've been testing and reviewing alot of 120mm fans Here.
I think it's time to expand my operations and move on to test 140mm fans. This is where you guys can help me with choosing the right components. Right now, I'm trying to decide which parts to get for this build and first things first, I need to choose a test bench and a power supply. For my 120mm test rig, I'm using Lian-Li's PC-T60 Pitstop chassis and Seasonic's X-Series SS-460FL power supply.
I'm thinking of buying another one of each and get on with it. If you guys have better and/or cheaper alternatives, I'd love to see them. The processor in my 120mm rig is an i7 920 and it's using 1.42 volts under full load and according to my UPS screen, the whole rig is barely using 300 watts. I'm probably going with a sandy bridge based processor for the new test rig and those things consume way less than Nahelems so a 460 watt gold rated powersupply is overkill.
Xigmatek is sending me a Prime SD1484 which is a single tower 140mm heatsink, perfect for the job.
So throw those suggestions at me. A good, fanless power supply and a decent open test bench.
