Far Cry 2 Sound

Hey there,

So I am wondering if I have something wrong here. When ever I fire a regular hand held weapon my ears pop cause it's so loud, but grenades/explosions/RPGs are very quite sounding. Is this happening to everyone? I just installed a new SB X-fi Gamer card. I can't tell if there is something wrong with the card or not as my original OMB sound was awful and nothing sounded right anyway. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Does this only happen in FC2? Check your sound settings too, could be treble is way up.

Make sure the Creative mode manager thing is set to Game mode.

Hey,

Thanks for the tips. The card is in game mode. It only happens in far cry 2. BIA, ME, Merc 2 all work and sound fine. Maybe just a game flaw with my setup?

Do you have the latest drivers for the card?

It's not just you, i noticed it immediately upon installing the game.
I think I may know the problem. I didn't have the front end connectors hooked up, so i was using my logitech 5.1 box for my headphone jack. Upon connecting the front end (and usuing the front end port) the sound have deffinetley gotten better. Not great, but livable. Must be something with the logitech box? Thanks for everyones help!
