Hello! I just finished transferring all my files from one flash drive to another and I am about to format one and use it as a boot drive. The drive is 8gb and USB2.
I will be formatting in FAT32. What I need to know is what I should select for the allocation unit size. I have been given mixed answers for this so I figured asking you guys would clear it all up. It's probably been answered before but I looked very quickly and couldn't find it so figured I'd make a new post.
I heard that the higher it is, the better performance but more space the format takes up? But then I also heard that it depends on the files you plan to use. And ofc someone also told me that smaller = faster. So what is it guys?
