Please post all ongoing issues with Bad Company II performance (or other games for that matter) with the Fermi cards.

The other major issue that is apparently related is low gpu usage with Fermi cards under load.

This issue looks to be occuring both single card and in SLI configs. Despite the various temporary fixes suggested at the nvidia forum, nothing resolves it completely (or at all in most cases).

Nvidia has promised a fix for both issues a la a driver update.

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?s...=170238&st=320

Here is the thread in the Nvidia forums: ^^

(QUICK UPDATE 30TH MARCH 2011 Info from ManuelG is now a very old update!)

ManuelG, an Nvidia employee has posted in the forum the following (latest comment):

I wanted to give everyone an update. We are in the process of building the final driver and it will take about 10 days for testing to complete and pushed out to NVIDIA.com. I will still update everyone who has PM'd directly but I would expect the final driver to be available on NVIDIA.com in the next 10 days.

This was posted by ManuelG on September 3rd at 8:34 PM.

Edit: Update. (Tuesday 7th September 2010) 19:28PM UK Time.
It would seem that there could be a potential conflict bewteen the fermi's and the core i7 920. The common factor with all the people who have this issue all have a i7 920. The current nvidia driver might not be fully optimized when a i7 and a GTX 4XX card are ran together. This is just pure opinion that ive come up with. Also, many people say BC2 stutters on nvidia but not ATI. This shows ATI cards seem to be able to play the game without any issues. Others who report no problems with BC2 and GTX4 cards might not realise that what they are seeing is not how the game should be and that the issue can ony be spotted if you play the game with a ATI card before using nvidia. If you have never experienced this game on a ATI card, you might not realise that the game is not playing as it should with Nvidia 4 series cards is what i am trying to say.

In conclusion, the new drivers should fix the stuttering in all games. They just need some tweaking to get the i7 920 and the GTX 4 cards to run together as they should.

Again, this is just opinion given the comments from other users.

Update: 8th Sep 2010 18:27PM UK Time

The new drivers are here with the BFBC2 stutter fix/Low GPU Usage fix.

It will take you to a thread.

(Update) The new drivers do not contain the stutter fix. We must still wait for the drivers to be put onto the nvidia site.

Update:
We have recieved news from a Nvidia worker that the leaked drivers DO contain the fix but most users report that the stuttering is the same. A small amount of users have said the game is now smooth. Try for yourself but it looks like this game might not be fixed for most for a while.

Update: 14th Sep 2010 >> 20:39 UK Time.
The new BETA drivers can now been found on the Nvidia beta drivers website. 260.63!
A few people this thread have already reported very smooth gameplay. Check it out for yourself.

Update: 19th Dec 2010
If anyone has stuttering issues and usage issues with the GTX 570/80, please come forward. Thank you!

Update: 2nd January 2011 at 18:17PM UK Time

For GTX 4 and 5 users, it seems Nvidia driver versions 265.90 and 266.44 are performing well. Many users have said the stutter issue and low GPU uage has been fixed. Please not, if you use this driver yet you still experience low usage, disable vsync. If you suffer from bad tearing or stuttering, try enabled vsync. Many like vysnc, and many don't. Try the game with vsync both on and off to see what works best for you.

Update 3rd January 2011 at 00:20AM UK Time
A member has said the "Phenoms" have seen no improvement with the 265.90 and 266.44 drivers. This is not official yet. Waiting for more input.

UPDATE 22nd Aug 2011 12:42PM British Standard time.
It seems that Nvidia cards do not seem to perform as well as AMD on the Battlefield 3 Alpha. No specific details can be given as it's under strict laws of privacy whilst under developement. On average, 6970 in CF is twice as fast as the GTX 570 in SLI. AMD have also released caps around 2-3 weeks ago to further increase performance. When the game is released, this thread will also discuss issues found in BF3 if there are any.

Hhmmm, and what are your clocks at for cpu and gpu?

Sounds like the gpu isn't getting enough data. Only using 40-60% of it is crazy, should be 90%+ load about 99% of the time playing BC2.

What can be the issue?
I had the same issue with my previous 5870 + QX6700...

I traded and upgraded only to find the same issue for BC2...
EVERYTHING is NEW besides the Hard Drive...I doubt it's the problem.

EDIT: Had the SAME issue with previous drivers

I dunno ... does that fact that it's online make a difference?

What happens if you do the single player?

It does because there are more character models to render.

Single player (which is boring btw) is about 50-60FPS.

Was it always like that?

If not then wiping BGBC2 folder in Documents is a good start.
Then you can toy around with render ahead limit.

Nut no matter what, i guess your CPU will bottleneck 470no matter how you OC it.

I'm having the same issue as you my friend... I don't think i'm bottlenecking because i can run modern warfare 2 on max settings online and get 60 fps - on my old card on max settings i was getting 30 frames. I max settings on bc 2 and get 30-40 frames online i tried changing dx versions, drivers, overclocking my cpu just seems like the game hates gtx 470.

With 5850 CF, i got no micro stuttering and it played smooth. Now with the GTX 470's, i get terrible micro stuttering. Swapped cards, swapped bridges, enabled vsync, disabled vsync, still get really terrable stuttering on this game. Does anybody else? is it a "ATI" game?
