While reading a thread on checkpoints the project dev had this reply

......As for the overall amount of credit issued, we will look into the amount of credit awarded by other projects but I must mention that it is unlikely to be changed in the lifetime of this project (a few more months). We are analyzing results at the moment and it' very time consuming, so we don't really have time to make major changes and given that the project will be coming to an end in a few months it would be of limited benefit.

We plan to launch [email protected] in about a years time and we will be taking all of this feedback on board then. This project has allowed us to see what changes are required and we will be working to have a better system in place.
Thanks,
Kevin

might still be enough time to grab a couple more positions.

opti app here if it's of any benefit to your rig.

Thanks for posting this up, added this as one of my CPU projects.

This will be put onto the March PotM list

This is the first time that I've seen something like this when signing up to a BOINC project. Has anyone ever encountered this when signing up to any other projects?

I'm going to try out the optimized app after I grab some numbers of work units without it and see if it gives any improvements. 30% sounds incredible.

For my rig, [email protected] is a bit of a mixed bag as far as run times and points go. Linux seemed to average slightly better times and points than XP does, and the opti app averaged a bit better than linux. So for my rig it's M$ opti>linux>M$

Our man Finrond has put up some real good times and pnts with his SB.

Yep, that was the opti app. Unfortunately, I can't run this when running poem as POEM takes up all of my cpu cores. I'll have to run down my POEM wu's before starting this again.

I know in the past the dev's have said that the longer units were expected and needed. Bit ugly with the way the stones stop scaling, *cough* i've even excused a few as i saw them running.

I started running an almost zero que, just big enough to keep a couple waiting and not pull too much of anything at one time..

We will be deploying new workunits in the next 24 hours. Between now and then you will not be able to receive new WUs.

I guess its not a good idea to run this as a pentathlon project then. If the WUs vary a lot, are few and far between, and with it ending soon.

Also did you guys see much improvement with with the opt app??

Ya, the opti app is much better, especially on my core2quads. The WU's arent few and far between most of the time, just having a 24 hour dry spell.

EDIT: Getting WU's again actually.

Run times for these new WUs seem pretty short. Stock 920 is doing them in about 4 minutes so you guys with 4.0GHz+ CPUs must be blasting through them.

Okay looks like the run times can vary quite a bit, but still they run faster than the last batch.

Yes, there are some varying run times and a corresponding increase in points, but they usually dont vary by more then a few minutes. My i5 2500k punches through the quickest WU's pretty quickly

Well, seems like it's time to test yet another CPU project.

Maybe we could also add it for April's PotM? Adding a project for only 8 days seems a bit rushed IMHO

EDIT: has anyone been able to download the opti app? I seem to be unable to do it.
