It's not bad, but I think you should replace the Barracuda with this. It's a more impressive hard drive and I trust it more than the Barracuda. Also, what is your budget? If you can squeeze in a few dollars, you can get an improvement in graphics card by buying a Radeon 4850 or 4870.

Also, welcome to OCN. Fill out your system specs so we can use it to better help you later.

I think you can put a Phenom II in there, but your on a restriction right? Nice build though i would personally go for a 4850 since you can find one for 144 or so
Also, your MIR will not work most likely....

Not really cutting costs, but the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139004 is a much better power supply that will last for years. Also, I would go with OCZ freeze or IC7 for thermal compound over MX2. They are both much better and are both non-conductive and have no curing time. Good luck!

Now Im fairly new to the latest improvements on componants, but why are you choosing to use IDE when youve got 6 sata ports on the motherboard, especially when the SATA componants are running about the same price.

650w for the same price.

Also a sata burner would be a good idea.
Personally I'd choose a Western Digital 640gb for its gb/dollar and performance.
I've seen better deals for a 4830 but there seems to be none at the moment. I got one for $75.

Well in that case, forget the 4850 and 4870 and definitely buy a SATA DVD drive. I overlooked that too...don't know why.

Oh and don't forget to buy the 640GB Black Caviar drive I suggested a while back. Definitely worth the investment. IMO, the fastest drive you can get for the money.

I was going to do the same thing, but I heard rumors (on this site) that the 48xx series cards 'may' drop price in the next month. So do what Im going to do, im using the 790GX on board and get a premo card when the drop in price and ive got extra $$$

I would have to disagree. Open box items tend to have flaws. One guy on OCN bought an open box item and ended up having newegg screwing him over.
