Looks like a solid build to me. Im sure youll enjoy it.
everything looks super win, i would just get the lightscribe version of that 22x burner, its like $2-$3 more and worth it.
Everything looks good to go. Enjoy your new system.

Agreed, you'll enjoy that... although that GPU is a bit overkill for the res of that 19in monitor (but who knows, you might be upgrading down the road).

Also, you could save some $ in combo deals, if your not particularly set on certain components (meaning, the specific mobo or stuff like that).

Like this.

This 285 comes with 2 free games (far cry 2, and world at war) and is the same price. Plus it has a double lifetime warranty...

That saves you some $ that you could use for a bigger monitor.

I'm sure that if you poke around some more, you could probably trim it up some more... but thats totally up to you.

Good luck with your new build

Why not AM3 build with 720Be, I just unlocked my cpu and seems to be stable at 3.5? I just build my system around same price, for your psu get this http://cmstore.coolermaster-usa.com/...roducts_id=102 it has 1 year warranty and for your case get this http://cmstore.coolermaster-usa.com/...roducts_id=109

I have got these two for myself and they seem to be very good so far. If you go with AM3 buld you would have a lot better upgrading options in future. look at my sig details, I have been very pleased except first 4870x2(asus trifan) that I recieved.

So far, unlocking the third core isn't possible with every motherboard or stable with that core enabled (let alone overclock). Safer to get 940.

I'd pick a Corsair power supply but that Cooler Master 690 is a great buy!

if its gaming only I would go with the 720 (the 940 is great too though, cant go wrong with either) and try to get yourself a 24" monitor. 1900x1200 resolution looks amazing and the screen is big but not too big. Like others have said too. XFX and Evga are both amazing companies with great warranties. Enjoy the new build!
hey nice build. it couldn't have gone any better than that

(although lightscribe is good to have, but no problem)

Very nice, solid build. If you can spend alittle more, buy maybe 2 more HDD and set em up in RAID 0.
2 things I see... those 500 gig 7200.11 drives have had problems (though i bleieve a firmware update fixed this?), and you'll be stuck with only 1 video card with that motherboard if you're using Nvidia cards on AMD chipsets.

Beyond that, solid build!
apart from getting the CPU from zipzoomfly and saving a bit of $$$ i see no major issues with that build.

if you do get the cpu from ZZF, get a bigger HDD, like a WD 640gb caviar black.
Just a thought...

It's not really worth it to get vista. if you give it 6 months, they'll have w7 out.
You can use the beta and help them test it for a while till it comes out.

Hope that helps
woul the evga gtx 280 at stock speeds 602 be good enough still? i dunt think i can afford the 285
Go for xfx , can't beat lifetime+ free games, stay with Corsair, also Vista is dying so 7 is the way to go ,and the rest looks great
Have fun gaming on that beast

Why not a AMD/ATI gpu? Goes with the dragon platform. Also go for Evga. XFX support is less then stellar.
