I picked up an IKEA Gallant awhile back but had not the time to assemble it.

I had too much stuff for my old IKEA Jerker to handle.

My before and after shots

Fresh paint in the room helped as well.

Now I just have to do some under table wire management.

Did a bit more wire management under desk (more to come).

Changed out one of my cases from a NZXT Vulcan to a CM Scout (need more hard drive spaces).

Looks good so far, seeing this reminds me that I need to get a new desk sometime soon.

Question, are those your rear speakers mounted on the wall to the left?
Yes, I had them behind me before, now my desk layout makes that moot. I'm going to sell them anyhow and grab a good set of 2.1's or maybe just remove the two rears.

Did some wire management clean up today, also switched out all the blue LED fans in my Storm Sniper to reds as well.

I ordered a new multifunction laser (Should be in tomorrow) which will take the place of my old Inkjet multifunction. The new one is all black (which helps).

I like the desk and the set up Rob. I myself am in the same boat that you were..I am running out of room on my desk..I have two monitors on it(my Dell U2410 and my Viewsonic 20.1), my speakers amongst a few other things, and it is just to cluttered for me...I am going to check that desk out at the local Ikea.

A few more recent pics. Finally got my rear speakers mounted in an appropriate spot (realigned my desk). Had to find some long RCA cables and splice them into individual strands. Also did some wire management, bought a new multi-function laser printer (so glad printers come in black now...), changed some fans in my second pc (added a pair of Xigmatek red LED 120's in the door of the Scout) and hung my favorite picture.

I'm thinking of grabbing a small LCD tv (32" or so) and corner wall mounting it above and behind my main monitor.

It's nice! If I'm honest, I'm not liking the new wall color, but sometimes changing from pale and peeling drab White to color gives the room alot of life, so I can see why you did it. I'd have gone more lighter/tan myself. I like the room though. Since it's Brown anyway, personally, I'd give it my touch of "throw Green plants/flowers everywhere". Yeah, that's my style of decorating, sadly.

I have a question about the desk (not specifically that one, but the Ikea Galants in particular). I was thinking of getting one in the coming months, not not anytime real soon since I have other stuff coming up, but I have a large and heavy (~85lbs or so) CRT. Are they sturdy enough for that?

It's very sturdy. You could likely stand on it.

What are you doing with an 85lb CRT

Surely this is worth it, compared to the chance of putting your back out, or, heaven forbid, it should fall on someone...
