Finally...my 5850 has been dispatched.

I seen some in stock in the UK this morning (after 4+ weeks of waiting) so jumped at it. Yes it cost me Â£30 more than it should, but frankly I was sick of waiting (more fool me).

Fingers crossed that it works, however assuming it does I will post some results here on Friday (if I get it on Thur as expected).

Is there any particular benchies I should run as I am a complete n00b at benchmarking? I have Future Mark Vantage from a previous build, however do not have any other means of tools.

btw, also orders an Asus Xonar DX sound card, as I am getting tired of onboard audio.

Is there anywhere where the above can be downloaded legally for free? Maybe I am justing being

to expect them to be free

I think I have some ram heatsinks about here somewhere..is it worthwhile attaching these to the card?

Benchmarks are all free. Were on earth would you attach the ramsinks?

Hi.

First off: Congrats on the new card!

Secondly: Some popular benchmarks are: Crysis benchmark (this can be achieved by downloading the Crysis demo for free), 3DMark Vantage, 3DMark 06, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat and Unigine! (All of these can be had for free - I'm sure - with the exception of 3DMark 06.

Thirdly: The RAMsinks wouldn't do you any good, since you cannot access the vRAM without taking the cooler off, and if you replaced the RAMsinks, then the stock cooler would no longer fit on.

Found the COJ and STALKER benchies so am d/ling now so will compare my 8800GT and the new card.

Just out of interest, are the 9.11 ATI drivers the best to go with for now?

I suggest Unigine Heaven, and Sanctuary Benchmarks, I will be doing similar when my card arrives tomorrow! The beauty of Dx11 is fully shown in these 2.

I would also concur the Crysis Warhead benches and Crysis benches, and the Call of Pripyat benches, even 3dMark06.
