Finally Understand Dual Monitors!

Well, after so long of never understanding why people like having dual monitors, I now understand entirely!
Trying to do photo editting between two pictures, while keeping IM windows open is an absolute pain in the ass on a single 20" monitor.

When I get money again, I'm going to be torn between getting lenses, and getting a second bloody monitor!

Yeah now throw in some game and website design, steam and yahoo IMs as well as AIMs, and checking OCN while maintaining your other websites to the mix and see why I use multiple monitors.

I use 2 from my main rig and 1 from my backup. The backup is for IMs and Mozilla while my main rig and its 2 monitors is for the rest.

I use my main rig with a 24" monitor and my Lenovo docked and attached to a second 24" monitor. Not quite dual monitors, but I find it easier to use.
Hmmmm.....I do have a spare box or two hanging around, could turn 1 into a dedicated IM/net box....run the 20" on that, if I pick up Dual 24" when I get money.

Not likely to happen, but I could fit it all.

But then I'd need 2 keyboards and mice, unless I want to run a KVM setup....

Yeah, but since it's a separate computer, any downtime in games can be used to browse OCN!

Hell yeah browse OCN!

And yeah, I use dual monitors for IRC/IM apps, as well as Ventrilo while I'm in game.. Since fullscreen games don't roll over to the second monitor, i can plant my Ventrilo window in an open space there and still see who hops in/pops out and who's talking.

I find dual screens help with video editing a ton.
Heh, I'll probably end up getting a 24" at some point, likely LG or Samsung, and use that as my primary, and use my current 20" as a secondary display.

I sort of doubt that I'll both with setting up a second rig just to run messengers while working on something, seems a wee bit excessive, and I don't have the room right now. I mean, I'm just a beginner.
