well AMD chips are already pretty darn flat. They usually don't need to be lapped.

Hi, alright I just spent about 9 hours today lapping my cpu and heatsink. I did everything the right way after reading and watching numerous tutorials. I used 220-400-600-1000-12000 grit and had a pretty nice shine and even surface on both cpu and HS. I'm using AS5 and I know it needs to go through cycles to fully work right and I also used just a little dab right in the middle of the cpu but shouldn't I notice even a little drop? My temps are exactly the same when idle and under load. 31c idle 37c load if you're curious. So they didn't go up

Same thing happened to me when I lapped a Zerotherm Nirvana 120 and and an AMD Athlon CPU. Absolutely no change in temps at all.
